First i am only giving one star because i can't give zero. When my wife and i pulled up to check in the two hostesses were standing by the front door smoking, so everyone that pulls up gets a big breath of cigarette smoke as soon as they open their car door. Then the hostess that checked us in didn't program our keys so we went to our room just to turn around and go back so they could fix the keys. Once we finally got in the room it was dirty everywhere. there were dirty wash clothes still hanging in the shower from the previous guests and trash all over and the bed wasn't made. it seemed like house keeping never went in there after the previous guests left. Then we discovered that the dead bolt on the door doesn't work the lever just spins in circles. so we had to go back to the front desk for a 3rd time before even unpacking. we requested a different room and was told there were no other room available so we then had to wait more than an hour for house keeping to clean the room we were given. On day two the door to our room stopped working. once the maintenance man finally got there he told us the battery on the reader had died and that they didn't have any more to replace it and that he would have to get one from another room that was unoccupied. when he came back and was fixing the door he told us that if we have any valuables that we shouldn't leave them in the room because they have had some employees steal from the rooms. he then informed us that he couldn't fix the dead bolt because he would have to replace the whole door handle assembly and he didn't have any in stock. On top of all this the breakfast that was advertised was not there. you had the option of stale cereal, stale toast, expired yogurt, juice and a waffle if you were willing to wait since they only had one of four waffle makers that worked. this was by far one of the worst stays I've ever had in a hotel and of course they refused to refund even part of our money.
Checked in at about 4:30am after driving hours in from another state for a family medical emergency. No other hotel in the state had a vacancy. We booked a room for two days/nights and were told the price was $125 per night because of increase demand due in part to the little league world series. Fine. The room was in no way worthy of that price tag (more in the 50-80 range) but I get they are trying to make a profit. The room itself was ok, if somewhat outdated and dingy. Good hot water pressure and decent size shower (+1 star). HBO as part of the cable package (+1 star). The issues started later that day. We left around 10am to return to the hospital, putting our suitcases in the car as a precaution (other reviews warned of theft). When we returned around 6pm to freshen up we found the few belongings we had left behind (bottles of water, a pair of shoes, etc) were gone. Upon contacting the front desk we were told that housekeeping thought we had checked out and put everything in a plastic bag we could pick up whenever we wanted. So we did. We returned at 11pm to sleep and our room keys would not work. That is when I noticed the lights and ac on in the room. Upon going to the front desk again our suspicion was confirmed - they gave our room away sometime between 6pm and 11pm. The girl at the front desk, Sam, found us another room and discounted it to $67. I thought it should have been free given the circumstances but whatever. The second room was even less impressive than the first and didn't even have a refrigerator. Will do stay at this location again and probably won't stay at a Super 8 again either.
I am only giving a 1 star because there is no option of 0. I called this hotel last night (9/22/17) as I do every night to different hotels for my husband who travels, to make sure they have rooms available. I had spoken to a younger woman at the front desk. I said " my husband will be arriving within the hour, are you sure rooms will still be available?" along with other questions I had asked. She said "yes definitely". I then told her thank you and I will send him on over. Now this whole time I heard this young woman mumbling to someone in the background while I was on the phone. When my husband arrived to this Super 8, the 2 girls working the front desk had told him there were no rooms available. He then argued that his wife had called and they told her (me) that he was good to go to this hotel. All the sudden rooms were available, but the room was going to cost him around $127.00 instead of $65.00. He said that's not a problem, he will pay that. Now, my husband needs his receipts for work so he can be reimbursed for his hotel stays. Today as he checked out, he received a receipt for $65.00. He argued the receipt for a good while. The girls from the night prior had apparently given him some type of discounts, one being a senior citizen discount. My husband is 32! I'm guessing they decided to pocket the rest of the money. This hotel could do nothing about the receipt. My husband told the receptionist today that he doesnt even care about the money, he just wants his receipt fixed. She said she apologizes but she can't fix it and she cant call the girls but they will look into it. This hotel had no cameras, they could not call the girls from last night, and the real price he paid was whiped away. So basically this is a lost cause. Stay here if you must, but beware being ripped off by a couple girls working the counter. As for Super 8, maybe you should start doing background checks on your employees. Oh yeah, drug tests too. Customers shouldn't have to worry about being ripped off. Good thing the 2 girls aren't maids huh?
The wheelchair accessible room I have, has a roll in shower n a shower chair which is great for my needs. Otherwise, it has the typjcal squishy floor space. I can fit so I'm comfy. Room's clean but definitely needs a makeover inside n out. If ur needing a place to crash, it'll work.
Stopped in just to sleep late at night. Staff is friendly. Rooms are okay, good for what I needed. Seemed clean. Neighborhood leaves a bit to be desired but would stay again if passing through.
